Automatic Nerf Super Soaker with magazine – best water gun ever?
In their new line up of Super Soaker water guns for 2011, Nerf may have released the best water gun of all time.
The combination of battery-power and a detachable water magazine gives the double-whammy of being able to use it one handed, plus longer play time before heading indoors for a refill.
The Nerf Super Soaker Thunderstorm is fully automatic. Instead of franticly pumping away to create the pressure necessary for Super Soaker’s legendary long-range shots, the Thunderstorm lets a battery do all the hard work for you.
This is great for little kids who may not have the strength to use the traditional Super Soakers.
But it’s even better for big kids. No-pumping enables you to operate this gun one-handed, so you can have one in each hand, or use it as a back-up weapon for a larger Super Soaker.
The second genius feature of the Thunderstorm is the detachable magazine-style water clip. The gun comes with one clip, and you can buy extra magazines for $4 each. Fill them up with water, then clip them onto your belt. When you’ve drained the water from the gun, unlock the magazine, drop it out, and replace with a full one.
Those water cannisters are also compatible with the new Tornado Strike Super Soaker – the only other Nerf water gun in the 2011 line-up that can take a water magazine.
Prices: Expect to pay around $15 for the Thunderstorm, $20 for the Tornado Strike and $4 for each additional magazine clip.
Availability: Out now and widely available in stores and online, including at Amazon.
