Seriously Cool Beach Toys for 2012
Carrying arm fulls of toys and equipment is just about the only downside of a trip to the beach.
If you are going to haul the kit down to the shore, you want to know that the toys you are taking are worth the effort.
Here’s a run down of the coolest beach toys available for Summer 2012- not a list of the basics, the essentials or the boring stuff – just the cool toys.
1. Haba Boudino Bucket, $22
It’s light, it collapses down so it doesn’t take up too much space, and it simple enough for a child to enjoy without needing constant help from a parent – surely those three factors make this the best beach toy ever.
This is more of a nylon bag than a bucket really. Grab it by the handles, scoop up some sea water, then use the valve at the bottom to control how much water you let you.
Great for rinsing off sandy hands, or gently adding moisture to your castle construction material without washing away all your (kids) hard work.
2. SandOSaurs, $20
We have this and it is very cool.
Its a bag of lightweight plastic moulds of dinosaur bones, so instead of making a boring regular sandcastle, you can create your own model dinosaur.
3. Melissa & Doug, Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cookie Sheet, $15
All of the Melissa & Doug Seaside Sidekicks range is both simultaneously super-cool and utterly adorable, I just picked out this one because I liked the idea of making sand cookies.
Also in the range are baking, cupcake and ice cream cone making sets.
4. Hand Trux, $18
Turn yourself into a human digger with a Hand-Trux Backhoe.
Slip this on your arm, grip the bar and dig like crazy.
