Help! How Do I Get Rid Of Toys
I’m losing the battle against the toys in this house.
Photographic evidence provided below.
The living room is worse than the bedrooms but I am just too ashamed to post a photo of that.
When Sons #1 & #2 were little, I loved nothing more than a good toy cull. I had a flawless system of retiring unloved toys to a box in the shed, and after a few weeks had elapsed and their absence had gone unnoticed they were donated / dumped.
I’m facing a new battle now.
The sons seems to remember every – single – toy – they – have – EVER – owned.
And if they can’t find it, they hunt for it.
And hunting involves a lot of mess.
The toy garage in this photo was given to Son #2 FIVE YEARS AGO!!!!
But here’s the rub: He still plays with it.
Tell me how you do it.
Do you bribe / rewards your children for giving up some toys?
Do you do it in secret while they’re at school or is it a family activity?
Do you jettison the toys away immediately or put them into some sort of holding area?
In the comments tell me how you downsize your toy collections?
