New Redakai Cartoon, Trading Cards & Toys

Check on Amazon for Redakai toys and cards available now.

From the makers of the Gormiti series (Zodiak Kids) and the brains behind Bakugan (Spin Master), comes Redakai – a new TV show – card game – toy range combo.

Redakai: Conquer the Kairu is a cartoon, aimed at boys aged 6-11 years, that will debut on Cartoon Network in the second half of 2011.

You’ll be hearing a lot about this show so get ahead of the game and do your research now.

The show features a 15 year old martial arts student called Ky. He is searching the globe to find the Kairu ‘a primordial alien energy force‘. Ky’s ambition is to become a Redakai – the greatest Kairu warrior of them all. There’s more to it than that, but that rudimentary grasp of the plot line should be enough to let most parents muddle through.

Collectible battle cards will accompany the series, naturally, but these will be unlike any other trading cards you’ve bought before because these cards are clever. The images on the cards are in eye-popping 3D, and when they are layered on top of each other during battle, they give an animated effect. The cards can also interact with the action figures, so that when swiped at the back of the figure it displays an image on the front.

The trading cards will be released around the same time as the cartoon debuts, and the action figures will be released in time for Christmas shopping.

Although this is a new toy, Spin Master’s reputation proceeds them, so they will have no problem finding stores and major online retailers to distribute them, although we don’t yet know who that will be.

If you want to get your hands on the cards and toys ASAP, check out Amazon once the cartoon starts to air, as small independent retailers are usually ahead of the game and may have some products listed there.
