Perfect Presents for Pirate Loving Boys
Got your very own Jack Sparrow?
Ears burnt out from the daily repetition of the ‘Yo Ho Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ theme song?
I feel your pain. But on the plus side, it makes picking the perfect presents and absolute doddle.
Here’s my guide to the best pirate toys available in 2012.
Build your own pirates…
…with the LEGO Pirates of the Carribean range.
From the tiny Jack Sparrow’s Boat set for £5, through to the huge Black Pearl for £90, there’s a construction challenge to suit every ability in this range.
This range was released in 2011, so it’s not widely promoted anymore, and may be tricky to find.
…is the Disney Channel’s Jake and Neverland Pirates. The cartoon has been around for a while but the toy range was only released this Summer. There are action figures, playsets, role play toys, and even a talking Jake doll.
Good all rounders
Playmobil launched a new Pirates range this year. I wrote a hands on review of the Playmobil Pirates range after getting to play with them at this year’s Toy Fair. There’s a good selection of playsets available, and the pirate ship seemed good value for money.
A classic to keep
For a beautiful wooden toy pirate ship, that you will be happy to have on display in your little pirate’s playroom, take a look at the Tildo Paragon Pirate Ship (pictured), £45.
It comes with captain and crew, treasure chest, cannons, steps and barrels.
Recessed wheels underneath mean it can be pushed along easily.
