Neighhhhhh – Christmas toy ideas for pony loving girls
Mummy I want a pony
The words we all whined when we were little, but dread hearing now.
Always happy to help, Toy Tattle brings you the best of 2012’s poo-free ponies:
FurReal Friends My Butterscotch Baby Pony, £100
New for 2012, this toy is your Christmas nightmare. You are going to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand there is absolutely no way you want to be paying £100 for a soft toy, but on the other hand, isn’t it the most beautiful, life-like plush horse you have ever seen? And the advert is going to be on all the time.
Tessie Goes Trotting, £23
Also new for 2012, Tessie is definitely the least convincing pony, but this miniature horse walks along on a light-up lead, is perfectly proportioned for little girls to hold, and only costs £23 so I can certainly see the appeal.
Animagic My Baby Honey, £50
Originally released in 2009, but enjoying a revivial and being labelled as ‘NEW’ over at Argos, to position it in direct competition to the FurReal Friends Baby Butterscotch. And at half the price, it’s a pretty good substitute, as you can see in the video (which is very old, sorry).
Toffee / Candy the Pony from Emotion Pets, £60
Now I’m not saying they are exactly the same toy, but here is a picture of Toffee, released 2010:
And here’s Candy, new to Argos in 2012:
Both Candy and Toffee like to be fed, and stroked, and nap, and if they get scared their ears tremble.
No video of Candy available I’m afraid so you will have to make-do with this old TV ad of Toffee:
