16-22 April 2012: Toy News Weekly Highlights
Hello, Toy Tattle fans.
To keep you up to date with the latest hot toy news, here’s my round-up of the highlights from this week.
New stuff out now, or really really soon
The In Thing, makers of the moldable chocolate toy Magic Choc, will be producing a range of Magic Choc Moshi Monsters (pictured). There will be three sets sizes available: Moshi Fun Pack 100g for £5, Moshi Tastic Pack 225g for £10, and a 400g party pack exclusive to Toys R Us for £20.
The new Avengers Assemble film is released to UK cinemas next Thursday, 26th April. It is rated a 12a, meaning it is up to you if your child (aged under 12) watches it, and you must accompanny them. The toys feature all the comic heroes, and are available to buy now. Go to info on Avengers toys in the UK – including an exclusive toy and how to save money.
New stuff that will be released later this year
GI Joe 2: Retaliation – UK release date has been set for 16th July this year. No rating has been given yet. Information on accompanying toys to follow later this year, so keep an eye on our Facebook wall.
Nintendo will be launching the Skylanders sequel, Skylanders: Giants, to the Nintendo 3DS this Autumn.
House of Anubis fans will be pleased to know a board game has been developed and will be released in time for Christmas this year. But you will be even more pleased to find out that in an exclusive deal, Amazon have The House of Anubis Board Game available from May 14th, before any other UK retailer. You can place a pre-order here.
New stuff to be released some time way into the future but I’m excited so I’m gonna tell you about it now
Postman Pat is getting his very own feature length movie! My kids are passed this age, and certainly will be by next year when it is released, so I will probably have to watch this all on my own. The storyline is based around Pat entering a national TV talent contest. Postman Pat: The Movie – You Know You’re the One is a CGI animation featuring Rupert Grint, Jim Broadbent and David Tennant, and will be released May 24th 2013.
