Bit of a quiet week, but still a handful of interesting stories for you.
Mega Bloks are rebranding their chunky blocks.
No longer will we have to describe them as the big blocks that aren’t Duplo and come in a big reusable bag.
These bags will now be called ‘First Builders’, and as part of the rebrand a girly-pink set will be added to the toy line.
Zulily has been launched in the UK. A popular discounts website in the US, Zulily offers limited availability big disounts on beautiful and unusual gifts for kids, women and the home. It’s a bit like Groupon, but much prettier.
Mattel have launched collectible royal dolls. Priced at £100, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge figures were launched this week to commerate their 1st wedding anniversary on 29th April.
This Summer Rastamouse is getting his own monthly magazine which is based around the theme of rewarding good behaviour, and investigating mysteries. Each edition will cost £2.50, and will be issued every 4 weeks.
LEGO are extending their Duplo line and will be released a handful of Disney Princess sets. These are out now. The set pictured is Cinderella’s Castle, priced at £40.
And production is underway for the first ever cinema-released, feature-length LEGO movie – due to launch Feb 28th 2014.
