Toy Tattle Reviews The Rivetz Pterodactyl Construction Set
There’s no two ways to say this, this review did not end well.
I volunteered to review a Rivetz set as Son#1 really enjoys construction toys like LEGO and Airfix, and I thought he’s like the gun tool that comes with this kit.
After unpacking all the pieces the task that lay ahead of us looked pretty daunting, and ultimately we failed, so we don’t have any finished product pictures to show you.
On The Plus Side
* The card feels more like plastic so it’s strong and durable, and can handle being bent and twisted;
* The Rivetz gun tool worked well and was fun to use;
* Manipulating the tiny plastic connectors is good for fine motor skills;
* When finished this would’ve made an impressive size model.
We didn’t finish it because there were too many pieces, and it was too complicated.
Perhaps this is a little like Airfix in that the more you do it, the better you get. We set about the task with the end product in mind, without really enjoying the process of putting this together. If you have space enough to leave the model and components out for a few days and work on it a little bit at a time, you might have more success.
I should also point out that the reviews on Amazon for Rivetz products are largely positive, so not everyone finds these sets as difficult as we did.
